Autogem is reflecting on one of the most successful years in its history, to coincide with a 20-year anniversary in the aftermarket, marking two decades of growth, innovation, and a people-first approach that continues to go beyond the transactional.
In a year that has coincided with two NTDA Award wins, the launch of our groundbreaking i-Sensor EVO tool and our most successful Under Pressure TPMS competition, we’re also celebrating our 20 year anniversary since the Chopra brothers acquired the business, where we’re now firmly established as a trusted partner for more than 5,000 workshops across the UK.
Back in 2005 we were on the brink of collapse, losing £60,000 a month with few willing to take the leap of faith to buy it, but Prashant and Adit saw potential where others saw risk.
“At just 31, I had a gut feeling that Autogem would define my career and, in many ways, my life,” says Prashant. “We learned on our feet and made mistakes, but belief in each other and our team kept us going. This milestone is as much theirs as it is mine.”
Today, we operate from our Park Royal headquarters with a team of over 60, delivering award-winning aftermarket solutions. Beyond our comprehensive parts and consumables offering, we’re widely recognised for our TPMS programme, covering 99% of OE sensors and providing thousands of UK workshops with advanced, exclusive technology.
Our culture, grounded in loyalty, collaboration and care, has been a cornerstone of our success. Many team members have been with us since the early days, helping to navigate a number of challenges including the 2008 recession, Brexit uncertainty, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the loss of much-loved colleague Adam Livett.
“Covid was particularly tough, but it bonded us more than ever. It wasn’t just about keeping the business afloat; it was about looking out for each other,” explains Prashant.
Innovation and industry leadership continue to define us. Our flagship initiative, Under Pressure, launched in 2022, celebrates excellence in TPMS best practice across the UK, raising standards while building community.
Alongside this, we deliver training, onboarding, and technical support, from e-learning to in-store guides and regional manager check-ins, ensuring workshops can operate smarter and more efficiently.
“From near collapse to 20 years of growth, our journey has always been about people and partnerships,” adds Prashant. “As we reflect at the end of this year, we’re proud of what we’ve built, but we know none of it would be possible without our team, our customers, and our suppliers. This anniversary is a celebration of all of them.”
