Original i-sensor®

Our original i-sensor® programming tool couldn’t be faster or simpler to use. With over 3500 i-sensor® tool users in the UK utilising the intuitive interface we have received many compliments of how “anyone can use it”, “it is so easy” and so on. If you have inexperienced staff who are not comfortable using diagnostic equipment, change relatively few tyres and are on a very tight budget, this is the solution we would recommend.

Diagnosing existing sensors

The tool allows a contactless scan of existing sensors (TPMS audit) from the tyre side displaying:

• sensor ID code

• tyre pressure (simple and safe pressure check)

• temperature (where applicable)

• battery status (where applicable)

• sensor operating frequency

We highly encourage using this function as a contactless pressure check on every direct TPMS equipped vehicle.

Programming

As well as diagnosing original equipment sensors it can also programme our unique i-sensor®, and you can do this in three different ways. Don’t worry, our free eLearning course and diagnostic workflows will explain when to select which option below.

Duplicating existing sensors

Duplicate sensors either automatically or manually, avoiding the requirement to reset the vehicle ECU when fitting new sensors – the ECU recognises the duplicate as if it were the original sensor. This function saves your workshop considerable time. We explain this concept in much greater detail as part of our training course.

Auto duplicate sensors in seconds

This is the fastest way to clone sensors with minimal input from the user. The tool diagnoses an existing sensor and then programs an i-sensor® blank. The blank becomes a clone with the same ID and protocol saving you the time and hassle of needing to perform a relearn procedure.

Manually duplicate sensors with just a few clicks of a button

Requires the user to input the required sensor ID into the i-sensor® blank via the tool in either decimal or hexadecimal format. This allows the user to create a clone of the original, even when the sensor battery is depleted OE ID locator function onboard the tool and supplied in a printed version.

Creating entirely new sensors

Create a new sensor from an i-sensor® blank very quickly by applying a pre-programmed unique ID code and the required protocol to the i-sensor® blank. The sensor is then ready to fit; however, the fitter needs to follow relevant relearn procedure. Our online TPMS assistant can help provide these details.

Wireless id modify

Copied the wrong sensor ID by accident? Don’t worry, you can wirelessly modify the ID code through the tyre without having to dismount it. NB As long as you did not select the incorrect Make Model and Year when the sensor was initially programmed.

Disabling “shipping mode”

Several OE sensors are set in a “shipping mode” to economise battery usage. The vehicle ECU cannot communicate with the sensors in this mode, however, our i-sensor® tools are able to scan them. The “Disable Shipping Mode” function overcomes this and allows the vehicle ECU to communicate with the sensors.

Optional OBDII

With our optional OBDII attachment, you can perform some additional functions as well.

Read OBDII

Sometimes a customer can bring in a “lemon.” Reading the OBDII allows you to perform an advanced diagnostic workflow in the event the TPMS light is not going out. Our training modules and tech support team will teach you how and when to use this function in case of any exceptional scenarios.

Write OBDII

Missing an OE sensor/s, you can program a new ID into an i-sensor® blank with the “Write OBDII” function. It allows you to perform an OBDII relearn in the event a drive around or stationary procedure is not available. On certain vehicles, this can be the quickest way to get a TPMS light out.

ECU unlock

Certain vehicles, require the ECU to be “unlocked” to accept new sensor ID codes. Perform the “Unlock ECU” function before proceeding with the ECU relearn process.

Clear DTC codes

Certain vehicles will not allow the TPMS light to extinguish without the stored TPMS error codes cleared from the ECU. This function clears the error codes before completing the ECU relearn process.
